“The name Hessa opticians is named after my daughter, Hessa which means ‘Destiny’. Although currently only 5 years old, our customers enjoy having her opinion on their choice of new spectacles!
I remember the day I decided to become an Optician. I had experienced the difficulties one has to face with poor sight and the extent to which it can affect the quality of life we lead. With this in mind, my dream was to give back to the community by offering my help in taking care of the health of their eyes. After having spent a number of years working as an optician, I really got to understand what my patients wanted from their optician and what their frustrations were. I desperately sought to work at an opticians that did not treat its customers like an arbitrary number, where they didn’t feel like part of a sausage factory and where I didn’t feel like I was part of one too. Having worked for the large multiples I found it difficult to provide the level of care and commitment I felt my patients deserved. So I finally decided to offer myself and the community something different. A place that doesn’t limit eyecare to 10- 20 minutes.
I wanted to create a place that had everything you need to offer the best service all in one place. We sought to have not only the latest technology but also to create a warm and inviting environment. We created an interior different to the slightly colder aesthetic typically found in opticians/dentists/GP surgeries. One that would make your eye test journey enjoyable and a place you would want to return to. I am overwhelmed by the support, trust and loyalty our customers have offered us. We hope to have your continued support so that we may continue to provide you with the very best in eye care.”
